Should You Update Your ELICOS Curriculum?
Under what circumstances should you update your ELICOS curriculum?
ELICOS curricula are designed to help achieve its learning objectives. There are several reasons why you need to update your curriculum. For example:
The current curriculum is not helping students to achieve its goals, and students are not making progress as they should.
The current curriculum needs to be updated as it has not been updated as per the ELICOS Standards 2018 and/or uses textbooks that are different to what is mentioned in the curriculum.
You are using assessment tools that are not aligned with the learning outcomes in the curriculum.
You need to conduct a satisfactory assessment validation and wish to change the learning outcomes set out in the curriculum.
The result of the student and/or teacher survey requests changes to the learning outcomes.
You are using a different course name, course duration, and/or content than what is in the curriculum.
There could be more reasons to update your curriculum than what is mentioned above. Often, designing or updating a curriculum is a time-consuming task. Therefore, using the ELICOS curriculum template provided by ASQA can be a great place to start, although you will need to add more elements to satisfy the ELCOS Standards 2018.
